Training & Experience

Charity has been singing since a young age. As a child, Charity was a member of the Pacific Mennonite Children’s Choir.  From there, she began private voice lessons and joined her school choir. Throughout the years Charity had the opportunity to perform around the world in venues like Carnegie Hall in NY and Disneyland in LA. She’s also received leading roles in local musical productions such as The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music, in addition to performing at weddings and other special events. Charity loves many styles of music from musical theatre to pop, to jazz. Charity has been surrounded by musicians and artists her whole life and is thankful to have had the opportunity to learn from many talented people throughout her life thus far. Charity began teaching professionally in 2016 at Aspire Fine Arts in Surrey, BC and soon found she loved inspiring students of all ages to sing with confidence, freedom, and joy. Charity believes in continually learning and growing in her own knowledge and training; therefore, she continues to take part in courses, workshops, conferences, and lessons herself so she can give her students the best training possible.

Teaching Method & Program

Charity is a “Sing With Power” Certified Voice Teacher, and teaches students of all ages and abilities ranging from beginner to advanced level lessons. Charity's vocal curriculum includes a variety of techniques to help develop pitch accuracy and increase strength, flexibility, range, control, and stamina. This vocal curriculum trains the vocal chords in proper speaking, singing, and breathing techniques to help singers gain a smooth transition between their chest voice and their head voice. Singing should be as easy and free as speaking, and this curriculum focuses on exactly that. Charity believes that first and foremost, her students should learn how to build healthy voices, and through proper training and techniques, her students will be able to grow and develop their vocal abilities quickly and efficiently. Her curriculum also offers vibrato training, for singers with little to no vibrato and/or inconsistent vibrato.

Charity can quickly recognize and correct improper singing habits that she hears. She is able to help students become healthy and confident singers through the elimination of bad habits and re-training of the voice.  Charity has had great success with her students throughout her years of teaching and loves bringing out the best in each of them.
