Meet Your Director & Instructor:

Charity

Piano, Voice, Choir, Performance, Songwriting

Charity is the Director, Studio Owner, and Lead Instructor, with over a decade of experience in music and arts education. With a lifelong background in piano, voice, guitar, theatre, and dance, she brings a strong foundation of technique, creativity, musicianship, and performance into her teaching.

She spent three years living and studying in Sydney, Australia, where she trained in music, dance, and leadership—an experience that strongly shaped her artistic vision and teaching philosophy.

At the heart of Charity’s work is a genuine commitment to her students. Many of her students have been with her since the beginning of her teaching career, a testament to the meaningful, long-term relationships she builds. She is known for her patience, encouragement, and ability to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable being themselves. Charity believes great teaching starts with listening—honoring each student’s interests, goals, and individual voice—while helping them grow in confidence and skill.

Charity is a certified vocal instructor specializing in healthy vocal technique, breath support, and confident performance. With a foundation in Royal Conservatory of Music training and continued professional development—including Berklee’s Developing Musicianship and Songwriting courses—she adapts her teaching to meet the unique needs of each student. She also specializes in performance preparation, helping students feel confident and fully prepared for auditions and the stage.

Charity has extensive experience working with neurodivergent children and youth and is deeply committed to inclusive, accessible music education. She believes learning should be joyful and empowering, and through private lessons, performance classes, live band experiences, and musicianship training, she strives to ensure every student feels seen, supported, and inspired—both on and off the stage.

Meet Your Instructor:

Kai

Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Performance, Songwriting

Kai Leung is a current UBC BFA student and life-long musician who has been playing instruments for his entire life. Originally trained classically on the piano and then more in a more contemporary style on guitar, his wide array of knowledge in multiple genres is suited for beginning and intermediate students who are still figuring out what they want to learn long-term. Prioritizing mainly electric guitar playing styles (rock, pop, alternative music, etc.) , he's also well versed in acoustic guitar and it's related genres (folk, country, acoustic pop, etc.). Beyond just guitar, he plays at local DIY venues around Vancouver in-between school and has been performing in bands since high school, encouraging performance as a means of both skill progression and self-expression for students.

Aiden

Meet Your Instructor:

Drums

Aiden has been drumming for over six years and now offers private drum lessons for kids and beginners who want to learn, have fun, and make some noise (the good kind!).

He specializes in worship music, rock, and jazz, with experience playing in school jazz bands, youth worship teams, and Sunday morning services. Worship music holds a special place for Aiden, and helping others connect to God through rhythm is one of his favorite things to do.

Aiden has trained with several incredible teachers, including a world-record-holding drummer, and he brings that passion and energy into every lesson. He also has experience working with neurodivergent kids and strives to keep lessons fun, flexible, and tailored to each student’s learning style.

Whether you’re looking to start drums or want your child to feel inspired through music, Aiden would love to help. Let’s jam!
